Tuesday, 14th May - Durango

We started out early today with croissant and coffee at Jean Pierre's French Cafe and Bakery in Durango. Magnifique!

On then to the railroad station of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway that winds up through the River Animas valley for 45 miles to Silverton, a journey that takes three and a half hours through stunning scenery.

We arrived at Silverton in time for lunch at former bordello, Natalia's.

Silverton boasts a Harley Davidson dealership at the highest elevation (9,500ft) in the USA.

Silverton at the height of the silver rush boasted a population of 100,000 - it now fluctuates between 200 (winter) and 800 (summer).

So is this Chris or Kevin Costner?

Silly question ....

In town, staying in our hotel and travelling on our train, shooting his latest Netflix series, Horizon. Suse shook his hand and had a quick chat with the great man - highlight of her holiday!! 😉
