Thursday, 9th May - Springdale/Zion National Park
After a bargain breakfast at Oscar's in Springdale ($8 a head) we caught the (free) shuttle bus to the Zion National Park entrance, bought our "Beautiful America" annual pass (another bargain - $80 for the four of us for one year) and jumped on the next (free) shuttle bus to take us through the park itself to its most northerly point, Temple of Sinawava.

From there we walked just over two miles along the riverside between soaring ridges.
Climbers high above us .....
Wildlife scampering around our feet ....
Catching the shuttle bus back south, we stopped at The Grotto and walked a further mile to Zion Lodge for lunch on the restaurant balcony.
Not a bad lunchtime view!
Finally we made our way back to the Court of the Patriachs for a short walk over the bridge crossing the river before heading back to the Visitor Centre and the shuttle bus back to our lodging
The day ended with bumbleberry pie and milkshake. Perfect.
