Monday, 13th May - Moab to Durango
We left our modern accommodation in Moab ...
.... and travelled 150 miles south east, over the state line between Utah and Colorado to our home for the next two nights, the Strater Hotel in Durango built in 1887 at the height of the silver mining boom .....
Even the restaurant servers stepped out of the 1890s ....
On the way journeying south we passed a final Arch, Wilson Arch on Highway 191.
We spent the afternoon in Durango wandering around the bohemian city centre (a picture may have been bought!) and spent a fascinating couple of hours in the museum at the Durango and Silverton Narrow Guage Railway (we travel on this tomorrow).
A vist was also made to a local chocolate store and, it being the middle of May, a Christmas store!
We dined at the Strater in the evening accompanied by a rather fine live country singer.
